Ostrom released a statement late Monday afternoon:
Guys,
There's no easy way to do this so I'm just going to come out and say it: I won't be a member of the Bridgetown Thunder this season.
This was a decision that I made because I don't feel that I can commit the amount of time deserving of the Thunder. I have always thought that the biggest strength of this team was our chemistry. In all of my years on the team I am positive that there was not another team in the league that had the level of dedication that we have. It is rare to have this many guys show up, game in and game out, that not only enjoy playing the game, but enjoy being together as friends.I have gone from making it to every game in my first season, to slowly missing more and more games/practices as the seasons have progressed. This season I would have missed more games than ever and I don't think that would be fair to all of you guys that put so much into this team.
I'm not leaving the team bitter or upset, this was the natural conclusion that comes when life gets too busy. Being a part of the Thunder has been a major part of my life and one of the best things I've ever been a part of. I'll definitely make it out to cheer you guys on a couple of times this year.
See you guys soon,
The Wizard of Ostrom
